Where I've Been ...

I fell off the blogger wagon way back when life got insanely crazy.

Hmmm ... that was about 6 weeks ago.

In that time, I ran the Color Run ...

Mom and I had our first ever (and last, I hope) garage sale and got rid of some stuff from the "garage sale" room ...

I visited Georgia for the wedding of this dear friend ...

Saw my favorite little girls ...

and got to hang out with some of my very favorite people (that of course I have no pictures of!)

I celebrated Thanksgiving with the family at "my" house ... just like we did the whole time I was growing up!

And we've been doing school.  Every. single. day.

and my kids brought food for 3 families at the High School that wouldn't have Christmas dinner without them  (so proud of them!)

And somehow, is it really possible that in 3 more days, my little darlin's will take finals ... and move on to another class.  Gonna miss some of them.  Gonna have a secret little party for others (that they are gone, gone, gone ...)

And, on weeks like this one, I am reminded of the brevity of this life and the gift of every day.

And I am so grateful for the nights when I sat around eating pizza, wrapping gifts, and watching the Duck Dynasty Christmas episode with my family ... and Chrismas shopping with my bro ... even if he DID have his shirt on wrong side out! ;-)

And days like today when I made Christmas cookies with my Mom ...

And despite the relentless fatigue of teaching, I am thankful that I can make a difference, even if it's just to one.  They have tried my patience, driven me to frustration, made me laugh til I cried, and made me proud on more than one occasion ... and I've made them lots of cupcakes!

So much to be thankful for ... 1350 gifts for this year and counting ...

Ann Voskamp posted this on her blog yesterday as the world reeled from the tragedy in CT.

Thankful for God who came near to bring JOY to the world ... and remind us the wonders of HIS love.
