Tis the season ...
to watch all the cheesy Christmas movies Hallmark/Lifetime can muster
to drink hot chocolate by the fire
to sit by the light of the tree
to be with friends and family
to shop for just the right gift
to wrap festive presents
to hang out with all our favorite people
And I think I'm having a semi-panic attack at everything that needs to get done. Last night that involved fixing two toilets (I know, huh? Go me!), shopping for my little Zambian, Joe, paying bills, cleaning the kitchen, fixing the bike ... and collapsing in a heap around 10 pm. Left on the list: Christmas cards, making fudge for my teams, too much stuff to do for work, getting the summer clothes out of my closet (finally), getting ready for the Callie 5K ...
Back to the lesson ... people are more important than the stuff! The stuff that really matters, really matters. I mean, aside from paying bills (and probably getting those toilets fixed) ... a lot of stuff can wait. And I want to soak in the sights and sounds and relationships of the season. Those Christmas lights are gonna be calling ... when I get back home at 11 pm ... sigh.

I feel ya.... It is the most wonderful time of year... yet filled with busyness, intense final exams (for my law student), deadlines at work and so much else. Praying that we can focus each day on what the Lord has us to do and who He has us to impact or love on!
