Blessings

I am not a big music person. Almost makes me feel like less of a person to say it out loud. :-) I listen to music when I work ... but at home, in the car, when I run ... just have to be in the mood ... I'm more of a book person ... I like a good story, so I will almost always opt for TV or a book or something that plays out a story right in front of my eyes.

Ironically, however, music speaks to me more than almost any other medium. (You'd think, then that I'd listen a bit more.)  Never listened to this song til today and it's been on repeat ever since. Love it. Love what it's done for my heart today.

Cannot believe that I've been counting blessings for months now and have still not made it to 1000. When I read Ann Voskamp's 1000 Gifts it seemed like such a little thing to number 1000 blessings.  Honestly, I probably have that many in my journal as I list each day things I am thankful for ... but I haven't caught up here. This song reminded me that there are blessings places I have resisted looking. Here they go ...

546. grief
547. the feeling of release after a good cry
548. letting go so God can fill anew
549. the expectancy of something better
550. tangibles
551. creating
552. cooking
553. drive time thinking
554. finding new margins
555. the ability to re-create .... ministry and life
556. open calendars
557. new relationships
558. the hope of heaven
559. the reevaluation that comes with change
560. coming to depend on God in deeper ways
561. coming to know God in new ways
562. hearing fresh words
563. God never wastes experiences
564. rejoicing with those who rejoice
565. mourning with those who mourn ... and "getting" it
