prayers for Molly

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
I John 3:1

Did I mention that I truly LOVE Valentine's???  I guess if I were honest I would have to say that I just love ANY excuse to cook bake, decorate, create, and host!  And Valentines is just a very convenient excuse to do that.  SO, I started the festivities this weekend by making Valentines ... and some yummy lemon sugar cookies (to frost next week) ... and I am super excited about making my heart-shaped red and white striped cake this week for the BIG day!  Love, love occasions!!!

I'm not even a big football fan ... (but I love occasions) and Super Bowl is one so I have some oreo truffles waiting to be dipped and decorated like footballs for tomorrow's big game.

For now, though my heart is heavy for one of my sweet nursing girls who lost her Mom to a long fight with cancer earlier this morning.  Molly's 21 and just got engaged a few months ago.  And her whole face just lights a room!  I love it!!  I cannot imagine being 21 (or 61 for that matter) without my Mom.  I cannot imagine making it through nursing school without my Mom.  I cannot imagine planning a wedding without my Mom.  I remember calling my Mom in September when another of my sweet girls lost her mom unexpectedly to a heart attack.  It was an emotional day as Hannah was in Mali (yep, Africa) when she found out.  As I told Mom about Hannah, all I could say is, "I could never make it without you.  I don't ever want you to go."

When each new class starts at SONAT, they ask the students why they chose nursing as a profession, Molly's answer related to her Mom's bout with cancer.  No doubt this will give her a unique perspective as she cares for patients and families.  How precious that a hard thing was already being used for good in her life!!

Praying God is near to her sweet heart right now ... and provides for she and her brothers as they make arrangements that are gut wrenching for "kids" at any age.  How GREAT is the LOVE the Father has lavished on us ... praying she's drowning in that love tonight.

That's all I've got today ... pray for Molly.
