never what you expect.

missions, that is.  ministry, that is.  life, in general.

I've been sitting around the dinner table listening to reports of the day.  They are varied, as is to be expected, with about ten different teams in ten different places.

My team showed up at Belle Reve being told it was transitional housing for homeless/disabled women ... and surprise!  It was transitional housing for HIV/AIDS infected individuals ... at present all men.  And my team had 9 girls.

But there's a beauty in the reminder that it's really God's plan, God's agenda and we are joining HIS work.  But so often we are so tangibly driven.  I heard the comment many times today, "I just wanted to make a difference."  And when that is tangible ... a wall is painted, a room has sheetrock, we look around and we marvel.  And we feel like we accomplished "something" ... when we spent 2 hours listening to men talk about their lives ... we fear that we've "wasted" a day.  We just don't think in God's economy often.

326. the intangibles
327. a good start to a good week
328. the relationships being formed
329. a chance to worship together
330. a short little afternoon nap
331. an awesome brother who had a birthday today ... so grateful for the one God gave me!
