O Great God give us rest.

This has been a tough week. Not gonna lie.  If I didn't relive it, I'd be ok with that.

But, in the midst of some crazy and some hard, I found a beautiful 70 degree, sunny afternoon and laced on the running shoes and went to the Greeneway.  Really, really need to do that EVERY day.  It was so good for my body and my heart.  And who would not be a runner if it meant going here:

I'm not a huge music person.  I know we've talked about that on here.  I just don't have it on all the time.  Love it.  It speaks to me ... but for some reason I don't listen nearly enoough.  Except when I walk or run ...

so, in addition to the beautiful day, gorgeous scenery and mind-clearing run ... I listened to some new tunes from DCB and Matt Papa and it was sooooo good for my heart to hear and to sing.

One of those new tunes was David Crowder's Give Us Rest ...

Cause I don't know about you, but I'm weary.  It's only January and I am flat out weary.  I am weary of spinning plates, doing the one man show, taking care of people, taking care of life, living in two cities, working on three campuses ... well, you get it, if you are reading today's entry, you actually hung with all my whining this week.

But these words were sweetness to my bone weary soul.  Need to do a little more running and a lot more listening and worshipping!

Oh great God give us rest
We're all worn thin from all of this
At the end of our hope with nothing left
Oh great God give us rest

Oh great God do your best
Have you seen this place it's all a mess
And I've done my part to well i guess
Oh great God do your best
