Today we celebrate Palm Sunday ... Christ's celebrated return to Jerusalem.
I cannot imagine all that was going through his head. He knew this was His last week on earth. The urgency of getting His disciples ready for that day had to be looming large. The agony of what He knew He was called to must have been overwhelming. He was loved and hated. Followed by some, stalked by others. Even His closest friends just didn't truly understand what He was about.
And today. None of that really mattered. I'm sure those who were plotting against Him were somewhere in the shadows that day with scowls on their faces. But the rest of Jerusalem lined the street in from of Him. They waved their Palm branches and made a road for His entry. He is finally celebrated as the King He is, riding into Jerusalem to shouts of Hosanna! Three years into His ministry, He has this one day of adoration ... in His last week.
As I think of today in the Christian calendar, what comes to my mind is that much was made of Jesus. My thought today is, what am I doing to make much of Jesus? How does my attitude make much of Him? My words? My faith? My time? This week, I want to make much of Him with my life.
