It's Tuesday again. The first OFFICIAL Tuesday of the semester. That means I am just getting home for the day ... after 3 meetings, 6 missions interviews, 24 emails in the hour I had a lunch meeting ... 24!!!, three major events I'm working on, Gathering.
But really ... I am home after finding out a friend lost her job (again). After praying for a friend's mom having a hip replaced tomorrow. After praying for a friend whose Dad is having a heart ablation on Thursday. After thinking about a friend having tests done tomorrow. After thinking I need to check on a friend whose brother lost his job. After getting three texts from my brother begging me NOT to go to Haiti with all the unrest. After worrying about a family overcome with need right now. After hearing a student tell me her parents are separated. After wondering how my grandfather's doctor appt went, but not having 10 minutes to call and check. After being a little disappointed with some news.
And this song was playing on the radio and I fell in love with it a few months ago when I first heard it. And I am reminded that truly THIS is what this life is about. And I am praying that in all these needs, those I love will find that God's love does hold us together and that we will be each others' keeper in the hard places of life. Cause sometimes we just need to know we are not alone. And if you haven't heard it before, you should! Matt Mauer, Hold Us Together
It don't have a job
Don't pay your bills
Won't buy you a home
In Beverly Hills
Won't fix your life
In five easy steps
Ain't the law of the land
Or the government
But it's all you need...
Love will hold us together
Make us a shelter
to weather the storm
And I'll be my brothers keeper
So the whole world will know
That we´re not alone
It's waiting for you
Knockin' at your door!
Every moment of truth
When your heart hits the floor
When you're on your knees then...
Love will hold us together
Make us a shelter
to weather the storm
And I'll be my brothers keeper
So the whole world will know
That we're not alone
This is the first day of the rest of your life
This is the first day of the rest of your life
'Cause even in the dark you can still see the light
It's gonna be alright s´gonna be alright
