Brave Day #14: Every day life

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."
- Mary Anne Radmacher

Sometimes I think we are never more brave than when we faithfully go about the daily life God has called us to.  Cause when there's a crisis or a big event .... when there's something new and daring we need to try ... even something hard, we can marshall all the resources we have and get to it done.  And so often we have all of our biggest fans cheering us on!  But there is something amazing about finding the courage to face all the normal, everday life has ahead.  I am exhausted today.  It's been a crazy, good, long week ... and it's not done ... I laid in bed this morning rehearsing the events of this weekend, trying to figure out, like a puzzle, how and when everything fits in ... and when I could possibly sleep (haven't found that piece)   And so, today, I am feeling like my most brave move is not dealing with my house or finding an apartment here, it's not loving people well or loving those who don't love us well back.  Really, today, it is just living the life I have ... faithfully ... with grace, peace, joy, and love.

The true test of a person's spiritual life and character is not what he does in the extraordinary moments of life, but what he does in the ordinary times when there is nothing tremendous or exciting happening.
-Oswald Chambers
