Brave Day #31: Thanksgiving

"Thanksgiving is the evidence of our acceptance of whatever He gives. Thanksgiving is the manifestation of our “Yes!” to His grace.”  - “One Thousand Gifts,” Ann Voskamp

and ultimately, I am back to the conclusion I made earlier this month, that the bravest things we do in life are not the grand gestures. It's not how we handle crisis.  It's not the big stuff of saving lives, winning friends, influencing people.  It's being willing to walk in faith, day by day, in the millions of little things with a heart of gratitude for His grace that gets us to the next moment.

I am learning that a lifetime of the "little" things is infinitely harder than a day or an hour is the really tough stuff.  And one of the many things that gives us the strength for the next hours worth of little stuff is a heart that remembers the God who got us through the last hour.

So, I am ending my month of being brave by adding to the list of gifts for which I am thankful:
701. the reds, oranges, and yellows on my tree
702. bringing a thank you gift of Gigi's
703. great  conversations at 2 story
