When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13
I am enamored with everyday, ordinary people who I find courageous:
Those who keep working on their marriage day after day, hurt after hurt because they made a commitment. Those who keep caring for loved ones with medical needs that have robbed them of time.
Those who go above and beyond at their job because they are doing it as unto God.
Those who move their family to remote areas to live life among people who need to hear the Good News.
Those who give up careers and new cars and flashy vacations to raise godly, awesome kids.
Those who don't give up on people who keep messing up.
Those who love often and well ... without much earthly recognition or reward.
Those who serve our country.
Those who face cancer or other scary medical conditions with trust and truth.
Those who are willing to follow their dreams, no matter where or when.
Those who don't give up ... or give in.
Those who live among poverty to share the abundance of Christ.
The most brave people I know walk in and out of my life every day with little more than a whisper, leaving the aroma of Christ in their wake. My prayer is that in the end what is said of me is that my life is extraordainary because I have been with Jesus.
