GIFT.
And this is where my Acts study meets my advent study. God loves EVERYONE .... from our neighbor next door to the most remote Siberian villager. God's heart is for EVERY person, EVERY tribe, EVERY nation. WE are all given gifts to use to reach people with the message of that love and redemption. At Pentecost, the apostles were gifted with the ability to speak in the languages to different people groups ... so we, too, are gifted to speak the language of a population as well ... maybe it's a tribe in Africa or a village in Peru, or simply the language of a harried soccer mom, or teenagers, maybe artsy folks, nurses or teachers, businessmen or outdoorsmen. My friend, Becca speaks ghetto ... beautifully. My friend, Gini, speaks to the heart of those with special needs. My friend, Steph spoke "nurse" with me last week at SONAT and every week as she loves on her small group of nursing students. My friend, Gavin speaks manstuff ... I don't always get it, sounds like Greek to me, but it works. My friend, Callie speaks compassion to those in need. all. the. time. My friend, Laura, speaks peace and service to those in the land of elementary school - to teachers and children alike. Whose language are you gifted to speak???
Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. (Galatians 6:4 MSG)
