This gift is for US ... YOU and ME. It was handpicked with us in mind. It's not your garden variety generic gift that you could give to any number of friends or acquaintances. Nope, it is the most personal. The most costly. The most precious. It cost all He could give. And it was ALL for us.
And as we start the celebration of that greatest of gifts ... let's remember that that "US" is not just the folks who are like us in our church. Nope, it's the neighbors down the street who don't have a church. It's the African village that has never heard the name Jesus. It's the street child in India and the orphan in Moldova. It's the most remote area of Peru where even alpacas fear to tread. It's the muslim countries of the middle east shrouded in deception and distortion of truth. The gift was given for US ... the whole wide world. Are we gonna hide it under the bed or share its beauty wide and far?
